This is a story of the development of a garden in Wales with Japanese elements. The story starts with youthful interests in the 1960’s through to the hermit’s hut where the old man drinks tea and reads poetry It is a story which starts with an inquiring ignorance and takes a long learning journey. The garden has gone through a number of iterations. Current development has been the result of attending the International Seminar on Japanese Gardens at Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2018. It is a story of a garden that tries to be of the place where it has been made and informed by learning about Japanese garden art and history.
