South East Region Virtual Meeting

March 21 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Our first talk is on historic Japanese Gardens in London.  As far as has been possible during lockdown Ed Brown has been researching gardens which have all but disappeared and is going to talk to us about ‘Two little-known Japanese Gardens in West London’.

Many of you will also have valuable information about historic Japanese gardens in London so we plan some time for discussion and audience participation.

Our second talk will be on the Dojima Sake Brewery Garden.  This is the first sake brewery in England possibly and we are going to hear from Robert Ketchell about the construction of a Japanese garden there.

We will be again using the breakout rooms towards the end of the meeting to allow you to meet and chat with other members.  This was very successful last meeting as I think we are all missing our social interactions somewhat.  Though each group is free to talk about any subject, our proposed theme this time is ‘Where I want to go in Japan when we’re able to travel again’.  We invite those of you who have explored extensively to share your travel tips and especially suggestions for ‘off the beaten track’ gardens to visit.

If you wish to attend this meeting, please contact the secretary at sesec@jgs.org.uk.
