Garden visits Yorkshire & Humber
September 18 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm
We will start at Andy Bolton’s garden in Tockwith near Wetherby.
As you will know, Andy is our regional chair and many of you will have visited this impressive Japanese garden as it has progressed over the years and continues to develop. Andy will briefly talk about the garden’s development and future plans. You will be free to wander and sit and relax in his garden
We will then travel on to Chris and Wendy Jakemans garden in Pilmoor, near Boroughbridge about 30 minutes away, to arrive around 12.30.
This is a really special large Japanese garden with a very unusual feature in having a large gauge model railway running around the site. Train rides will be available at £1 per person per trip via a charity box. There is also a carp pond and wildflower meadow. You will be able to wander the garden at your leisure
Chris will give a brief presentation on the gardens development and his interest in the rail network in his Garden
