Between the Stones – A presentation by Jannette Cheong

27th October 2018 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

The day is divided into two events being organised by the Japan Society North West (JSNW) and the NW Region of the JGS and will take place on the 27th of October, 2018. You may attend one or both events, they are both FREE.

The event is in two parts. The NW Region of the JGS is working in the Walkden Japanese Garden during the Saturday morning and members of the working party will be available to show guests from the JSNW and the JGS around the garden during one of our monthly workshops. Work party members will be available in the gardens from 0900 to 1230 (see accompanying event)

In the afternoon (1430-1630) Janette Cheong will give an introduction to NOH theatre, and the process of putting on a Noh play from the page to the stage. This is an illustrated introduction – ‘what is noh?’, together with a reading of the new noh play entitled “Between the Stones”. Jannette’s presentation will take place at the International Society, William Kay House, 327 Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9PG

Further details about both events and registration (maximum number of participants at the International Society is 50). While both events are free refreshments (tea/coffee and cake) cost £2. Please contact the Japan Society North West  – Events Co-ordinator – events@jsnw.org.uk
